we came back to atlanta on monday, december 26th, after spending 4 days in chattanooga. december 22 was asher's 18th birthday and we had promised him that he could celebrate it with his friends along with christmas. all of the staff at the staybridge suites (where we stayed) on carter street in downtown chattanooga could not have been any kinder and more gracious to allow us to use their dining area and conference room to share several holiday meals with family as well as celebrate asher's birthday.
asher was originally supposed to finish at shepherd on december 30th, which would also have been hadrienne's 20th birthday. they have extended his stay for another 2 weeks which will put our exit date at december 13th. the reason for this is they have been spending a lot of time trying to straighten out asher's right arm in the hopes that he will be able to get more use out of it if they do. he really wants to be able to push a manual wheelchair by himself (one of his own stated goals).
