June 24, 8 PM

asher has had a really great day. i arrived at the hospital at 11 AM to relieve gloria and hadrienne. shortly after they left, asher had dozed off and, and just when i happened to look down at him he opened his eyes and lifted his head like he was trying to get up. he continued to try this all afternoon until they sat him up for a few hours and after that he was too tired to try it any more.

it is official, asher will be moved by ambulance, monday morning to the sherpherd spinal center in atlanta. it is right behind piedmont hospital on peachtree road if you are familiar with atlanta. years ago i lived in midtown atlanta on myrtle street near piedmont park. it is really incredible that we will be going to a place that i am very familiar with. atlanta is also the place that my mother is originally from. her family was there at least as far back as the burning of atlanta, if not earlier.

there is more that i would like to share, but unfortunately i need to get back to the hospital and relieve gloria again.

our continuing thanks to God for each of you who are continuing to carry our burdens with us and for us.

believing, each moment, in the unbelievable,

andy mendonsa

"Give thanks to the LORD,
call on his name;
make known among the nations
what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of his wonderful acts.

Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those
who seek the Lord rejoice.

Look to the LORD and his strength;
seek his face always."
(Ps. 105:1-4)

Angie McGhee wrote about Asher on an endurance riding list. The members of that list are a bunch of lunatics who are out riding horses all hours of the day and night and, unfortunately, injuries are familiar to all of us. Last year the owner of the list sent me her 17 yr old son for a three month stay in Egypt. Destry was a skater and though I doubted he would find many places to skate in Cairo, he became a familiar figure in my neighbourhood and met a group of friends who sent him back to Idaho with some pretty amazing photos of him skating around this old city. Luckily, he didn't take home any new scars to show off there as well. I used to worry a lot, the traffic in Cairo being just short of horrific. I will have Asher in my prayers and thoughts daily. My son fell with a horse when he was 12 and just avoided the level of injury that Asher sustained. Hoping to hear good news from Angie. All the best from Egypt.

Dear Family,

Reading that Asher will soon be moved is a bitter-sweet emotion for me. I am so happy for you that things are moving in such a positive direction. But I know how much Mark and other friends, that have been there for you and Asher, will feel the void. Your up-dates will become even more precious. I rejoice with you on Asher's continuing progress. May God speed this journey.

Hi Andy..
Sunday evening, I was in a church in Knoxville where we had been in incredible worship for over an hour, when the pastor came to the mike. He is a man who moves in the prophetic and sees into the supernatural. God had shown him angels around the room that were there to minister healing. The pastor began to call out different areas of need, including dealing with the spine, head, & brain. I was there with another widow from the Widows Ministry Center who has been praying for Asher too. I turned to her and said, "Let's claim this for Asher" and she agreed. I also felt led to go up to the front and tell the pastor about Asher. As soon as he got the information he released the angels to go minister to Asher in his hospital room. It was powerful and felt God's anointing on it.
As I read your reports, Andy, I rejoyce in what God is doing! We are continually undergirding Asher, you and the family!
I so enjoyed my time with you when I was up and the time of prayer we had! WhAT A MIGHTY GOD WE HAVE!
God says that He blesses ALL the works of your hands because you bless the widow...that includes blessing your family too! Carolmarie
