May 31

i am on my way to the hospital. gloria called just a few minutes ago (7:45 am) and they are going to take asher to surgery soon. we knew this was coming up, but we didn't know when. there was not communication from the doctors to us yesterday at all. they are supposed to do a trach, put the blood filters in to catch clots, put a peg in his stomach for feeding, and remove the brace on his femur in order to get ready for that surgery. it will probably last about 4 hours. please pray for all these procedures that will be done this morning. we are more than a little upset that we didn' have more notice.

trusting Him,
andy mendons

May the peace of the Lord be with you. And remember the battle is not yours it's the Lord.

Our earnest prayers and gutteral moans rise up and escape to our Lord and Saviour. May His Healing Hand be on Asher, may His sure hand guide those of the physicians, and may He be praised for miracles He bestows.

I just wanted to let you know that our church in Saint Louis is praying for your family and for Asher.
And that you are much loved.

I have changed my drive home, just to drive by your house and pray a web of peace around it. If I wake in the night, I lay Asher at the cross all over again. He is in our family prayers, our church prayers, and my private conversation with our Maker. Thank you for sharing your struggle, Andy.

Dear andy, gloria, and hadrienne,

We have just heard of Asher's injuries.

We are praying with words and groanings in the Holy Spirit and will be fasting for Asher.

An African woman with severe damage to her C-5 & C-6 spoke these words to her children following her accident: "When impossible troubles come your way and you despair and think all is lost, count all your blessings God is giving you right now and don't leave out a single one--aren't they surprisingly many? You will have peace of mind, peace that passes understanding, peace that makes no sense based on the circumstances."

"The Lord is close to the broken-hearted; and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Lean on Him.

We want to help carry this burden with you.
